Kate is a freshman at NYU, pursuing a degree in Global Liberal Studies (GLS). GLS is an interdisciplinary bachelor’s degree program that brings the traditional liberal arts into the global twenty-first century, combining international relations with economics. Kate is also studying French, her third language after English and Spanish.

Globalization: International Politics and Economy
Working from a multilateral perspective, Globalization centered on a curriculum that used case studies to examine the nature of relations between nation-states in a period of increased economic and political integration. Topics included theories of international political economy in relation to foreign aid and sovereign debt, international trade and capital flows, security and non-state actors, rights-based approaches to development and humanitarian emergencies, energy sustainability, and the role of international organizations and financial institutions.
